Careers
TIACS IS LOOKING FOR MORE EPIC HUMANS TO JOIN OUR TEAM!
We are all about showing up where it matters – on worksites, in communities, and alongside the people and industries we’re in it with.
We are building the most innovative social purpose counselling service in the country and are looking for an experienced NATIONAL ENGAGEMENT LEAD to join our team.
TIACS was started by the co-founders of TradeMutt – Dan Allen and Edward Ross. TradeMutt and TIACS are connected by their co-founders to serve complimentary but separate responses in changing the mental health landscape in Australia. TradeMutt has a prevention focus as a social impact workwear brand and is all about starting conversations. That’s why every shirt says This Is A Conversation Starter across the back – because that’s exactly what they’re designed to do! TIACS is a not-for-profit, social purpose, early intervention counselling service. We provide free, professional, confidential, and accessible counselling both over the phone and by text to tradies, truckies, farmers, apprentices, the blue-collar community, and those who care about them.
ROLE OVERVIEW
TIACS is recruiting a hands on, relationship-led engagement lead to build trust and connection across blue-collar worksites, industry settings, apprentice training institutions, and community fundraising activities. This is not a clinical role – it is about credible presence, plain language engagement, and creating clear pathways into support. Brisbane base with national travel, non-standard hours at times, and strong organisational support.
- Permanent Fulltime role
- Competitive salary of $110k per annum + super, with not‑for‑profit salary packaging
- Fully maintained vehicle
- Flexibility of hours aligned to a national role
- Head Office in Brisbane (must be available to attend office in routine intervals)

Before you apply, we encourage you to visit the TIACS and TradeMutt websites and suss us out before pressing send with your resume. You’ll get a sense of what we are looking for and if your ‘A’ game is going to propel our mission and vision forward. If you think “Yep, that is something I want to be a part of!” then send your resume to admin@tiacs.org with a short cover letter (no more than 1 page) telling us why you would be a great addition to our team.

If you’ve ever sat in a leadership meeting, looked around the table and thought “none of you have actually run a counselling service, have you” – we might be your people.
At TIACS, the person leading our counselling service actually needs to understand what that means. Not in theory. Not from a policy document. You draw on what you know, bring the team through it with you, and you hold the whole picture: client outcomes, team wellbeing, and organisational sustainability because you understand that none of them work without the other.
TIACS is a free counselling service for tradies, truckies, farmers, apprentices, blue-collar workforce and the people who care about them. No waiting lists, no cost, no referral required. Just real, professional early intervention counselling delivered by phone and text for people who don’t usually ask for help – and increasingly, are.
The service works. The team is growing. And what we need now is a Head of Counselling Services who can lead it well as it scales. Someone who understands that a model of care is only as good as the practice it produces on the ground, and who has the leadership experience to make sure ours stays that way.
YOU’RE PROBABLY:
currently leading a counselling or mental health service and doing it well but ready for something with a bit more grit and a lot more purpose
someone who leads from the front and brings people with them, not someone who manages from a distance and hopes for the best
as comfortable in the detail as you are in the big picture because this role needs both
the kind of leader your team would follow through organisational changes without immediately updating their LinkedIn profile
genuinely invested in the people TIACS exists to support because that’s not optional here, it’s the whole point

Before you hit send, take a look at the TIACS and TradeMutt websites. Get a feel for who we are. If you read it and think “yeah, that’s where I belong” – we’d like to hear from you.
Send your resume and a cover letter (one page max – we mean it) to admin@tiacs.org Tell us why you’re the right person to lead this service. We’re not looking for perfect. We’re looking for the right fit.
When a service is this good, growth should look a lot like trust, timing and knowing how to back what matters.
TIACS is Australia’s home of Blue-Collar counselling. Free professional support for tradies, truckies, farmers, apprentices, blue-collar workers and the people that care about them. No waitlists, no referrals, no cost, no bull s**t.
Free is a powerful word. It’s also an interesting business model. That’s this role.
TIACS doesn’t charge the people who need it. It never will. This role exists to make sure that’s still true well into the future by growing the brand, building the right partnerships and developing the commercial backbone that keeps the service running at scale, without compromising what makes it work.
YOU’RE PROBABLY:
Looking for somewhere to take an impressive career and point it at something that actually matters
Have a strong intuition for meaningful partnerships that are driven by authentic relationships and knows the difference between momentum and noise.
Great with understanding brands, particularly the importance of timing, judgment, taste and cultural intuition.
Comfortable at a smoko site visit and reliable with a boardroom deck
Not waiting for someone else to build the strategy before you get involved
Allergic to listing “stakeholder engagement” as a skill without being able to name three stakeholders you’ve genuinely moved
Connected to blue-collar industries, or at least fluent enough in the culture that you’d pass the smoko test. This one matters.
